AZERTAC and Jiji Press sign new cooperation agreement
Shusha, July 14, AZERTAC
The Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) and Japan’s Jiji Press signed a cooperation and news exchange agreement on the sidelines of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum on July 14.
The agreement was signed by Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC, and Yoshiki Kishida, Executive Director for International Affairs at Jiji Press.
The document aims to expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation in news exchange and promote the development of other mutually beneficial areas of partnership.
Under the agreement, AZERTAC and Jiji Press will exchange English-language news, including photo and video materials, free of charge through their existing technological channels. The document also reflects the parties’ intention to cooperate in combating fake news and disinformation and to exchange experience in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
The new agreement replaces the cooperation agreement signed between the two news agencies on April 15, 2015.
