Bakcell fulfills dreams of young entrepreneurs

Baku, April 23, AZERTAC

Bakcell, the first mobile operator and leading mobile internet provider of Azerbaijan, has allocated funds to help in implementation of business ideas of young persons living under the patronage of the “SOS Children’s Villages Azerbaijan” Association and other boarding schools. “Thanks to this support, 3 young persons have gained a great opportunity to establish their own small business,” the company said.

“Thus, an opening ceremony was held for one of these businesses -“Floristika flower shop”, selected for a well-composed business plan and readiness for operation under the “Youth Career and Development Center” project, implemented with support of Bakcell. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of Bakcell and the “SOS Children’s Villages Azerbaijan” Association, as well as various public figures and mass media representatives. Owner of the new flower shop is Kazimli Seymur, who has grown up at one of the public boarding schools and worked as an assistant in a flower shop since his youthhood. Seymur was in the flower business for 7 years, dreaming about his own business. His determination and ambitions have allowed him to become a winner of the project by composing a perfect business plan,” Bakcell said.

“Bakcell successfully implements numerous projects aimed at supporting education and skill improvement of children and youth, helping them prepare for building their own business in the future and improving their well-being. We are very pleased that our long-term cooperation with “SOS Children’s Villages Azerbaijan” Association continues to bring great results and we are proud to see that young persons whom we support are starting to turn into successful business owners”, said Head of Public Relations and Corporate Communications department of Bakcell Suheyla Jafarova.

“For many years I’ve had a dream of establishing my own business and open a flower shop and thanks to this fantastic project my dreams have come true. I’m confident that this experience will serve as good contribution to my future life. I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to Bakcell and SOS Children’s Villages who supported me in my journey”, said Seymur Kazimli.

During the first stage of the project, implemented last year, 15 young persons living under the patronage of the “SOS Children’s Villages” have participated in the “Start and improve your own business” training program. After the evaluation, Bakcell has provided financial support to 3 most successful business projects, being “Floristika flower shop” and “Tea House” in Baku, and a “Fruit bazaar” in Ganja city.

“This project shall be considered as a part of the self-employment program of the International Labour Organization, which is closely supported by our government. I’m delighted to see that the initiative we have started with Bakcell is starting to bear fruit. We are planning to continue our cooperation in this area and I believe that we will be able to support more young people”, said National Director of “SOS Children’s Villages Azerbaijan” Rashad Huseynov.

The main focus during the evaluation was on such factors as the business plan preparation, feasibility of the idea in real market conditions, experience and social status of the applicant. All 3 winners have experience in the area of proposed businesses.

Starting from the year 2009, Bakcell has been providing its support to children and teenagers deprived from parental care and children from economically disadvantaged families, within the frames of cooperation with the “SOS Children’s Villages Azerbaijan” Association.
