Baku hosts 4th International Mine Action Conference

The 4th International Mine Action Conference on the theme “Humanitarian Demining for Urban Recovery: Setting Standards of Excellence for Safe Settlements”, co-organized by the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) and the United Nations Office in Azerbaijan, commenced in Baku on September 2.
The event will feature panel discussions on “Mine Action at the Foundation of Urban Reconstruction”, “International Cooperation and Donor Mechanisms to Support Safe Mine Action in Azerbaijan”, and “Humanitarian Demining for Resilient Communities”.
The conference is also expected to feature the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between ANAMA and the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center.
The conference will conclude on September 3.
