Baku hosts Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan business forum

An Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan business forum has today been held in the capital city of Baku.
The forum was attended by officials of both countries, as well as representatives of companies operating in the fields of agriculture, food, textiles, pharmaceuticals, construction, tourism, logistics and other spheres.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized that the political will and joint efforts of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan had brought the relations between two countries to the level of strategic partnership. “Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have signed more than 160 documents, including the Declaration on Deepening Strategic Partnership and Increasing Comprehensive Cooperation, creating a solid bilateral legal framework,” Jabbarov underlined.
“The cooperation with Uzbekistan is multifaceted and covers a variety of sectors of the economy, joint projects are being implemented, mutual investments are being made,” the Azerbaijani minister mentioned.
Speakers at the forum hailed the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy. It was noted that one of the promising areas is transport and in this regard, the partnership of two countries within the framework of the Middle Corridor has a great potential.
The forum participants were also informed about Azerbaijan's favorable investment climate, economic reforms, industrial zones, Alat Free Economic Zone, projects implemented in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, as well as opportunities created for investors in the country. The minister also expressed gratitude to the brotherly country of Uzbekistan for its participation in the reconstruction of the liberated territories.
Uzbekistan's Investment, Industry and Trade Minister Laziz Kudratov noted that the strategic approaches of the Presidents of both countries make an important contribution to the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, countries that share common historical roots and values, in all areas.
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have signed agreements on cooperation in the fields of metallurgy, accreditation, energy and pharmaceuticals on the sidelines Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan business forum.
