Baku hosts concurrent ERRA Chairmen meeting and ERRA Tariff/Pricing Committee meeing
Baku, September 22 (AZERTAC). Baku is hosting the annual meeting of the Tariff/Pricing Committee and meeting of the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) chairmen. The meeting kicked off today and will last until September 23.
Supported by the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, co-hosted by Tariff (price) Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan (TC) and Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA), the meeting has brought together participants from almost 30 ERRA member states.
The roundtable discussions include such topics as updates on recent energy regulatory issues; status report on the findings of the ERRA strategic planning working group; implementing the gas security of supply EU regulation: risk assessment in harmonised way with the neighbouring markets, etc.
The Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) is a voluntary organization comprised of independent energy regulatory bodies primarily from the Central European and Eurasian region, with Affiliates from Asia the Middle East and the USA. ERRA began as a cooperative exchange among 12 energy regulatory bodies. The Association`s main objective is to increase exchange of information and experience among its members and to expand access to energy regulatory experience around the world.
To date ERRA lists 24 Full, 2 Associate and 4 Affiliate Members. The Association was legally registered in Hungary in April 2001 and its Secretariat operates in Budapest. NARUC and USAID have been providing continuous support for the operation of the Association.
