BAKU INTERNATIONAL AND INTERCITY DEPOT’S STAFF CONDEMNS CRIMINAL ACTIONS OF OPPOSITION
Numerous local and foreign observers acknowledged that elections were held in fair and democratic manner. Mr. Ilham Aliyev won the support of our people due to his personality traits, intellectual capacity, political experience, business-like character and administration skills and scored a victory at the elections by overwhelming majority of votes. Because it is clear to us that Ilham Aliyev will play an exceptional role in the future development of Azerbaijan.
However, taking all this with hatred Isa Gambar and destructive forces surrounding him tried to resort to violence on October 15-16 and undermine socio-political stability in Azerbaijan, initiate mass disorders. It became a logical result of opposition’s activities conflicting with people’s will. With this deed, Isa Gambar once more proved that that he is indifferent to people’s destiny. He is purse his own interests and implement dirty intentions.
Disorders resulted in damaging state and private buildings, vehicles and injuring passer-bys and policemen exercising their duty right before the eyes of foreign guests.
We strongly condemn criminal acts of reactionaries throwing stones at policemen and injuring journalists with blunt things, trampling infant child, demand initiators of disorders to stand before the law, ban “Musavat” party and institute criminal proceedings against Isa Gambar and extremist forces surrounding him.
It is necessary to remove “Musavat”, in particular, its leader – Isa Gambar from the political arena of Azerbaijan. We do not need such a guileful political organization, which pursue its own interests. We ask relevant bodies of Azerbaijan to take into account this fair demand of our staff. As the whole Azerbaijani nation, staff of the Baku International and Intercity Depot congratulates successor of Heydar Aliyev’s political course – Mr. Ilham Aliyev on his decisive victory at the presidential elections and wish him every success for the sake of development and prosperity of Azerbaijan.
