BAKU TENNIS CUP-2006 STARTS
International women’s tennis tournament Baku Cup-2006 kicked off in Baku. The tournament gathered some 40 tennis players from Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Italy, India, Spain and Belarus. The prize money of the tournament is $10 thousand.
Elina Hasanova, Sevil ALIyeva and Sayara Mammadova represent Azerbaijan in the competition.
Qualifiers were played on August 27. Four encounters of the main stage were held August 28.
Azerbaijani player Sayara Mammadova was knocked out of the competition in two sets by Georgian Salome Adalashvili.
Elina Hasanova and Sevil Aliyeva will start competition on August 29.
In accordance with the draw, Azerbaijani tennis players will face each other in the first round.
