Berlin, June 25, AZERTAC
A banquet marking Azerbaijan's Armed Forces Day on June 26 was held in Berlin, co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany and the Military Attaché Office of the Armed Forces.
The event, held at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Berlin, brought together high-ranking representatives of the German Federal Ministry of Defense and other state institutions, members of the Bundestag, ambassadors, military attachés from various countries accredited to Germany, media representatives, scientists and cultural figures, as well as members of the Azerbaijani, Turkish, and other friendly communities living in the country.
The memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Then the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Germany were performed, and a video clip highlighting the Azerbaijani Armed Forces was screened.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Germany Nasimi Aghayev noted that the foundation of the Armed Forces was laid with the establishment of the first national military corps of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on June 26, 1918. He emphasized that the Armed Forces, formed on the basis of these historical traditions after the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence in 1991, are one of the key pillars of the country's sovereignty and national security.
Nasimi Aghayev noted that the long-standing and reliable partnership between Azerbaijan and Germany, including cooperation in the fields of security and defense, continues to develop successfully.
Following the speeches, Azerbaijani pianist Narmin Najafli performed a concert program.
