Bulgarian companies, SOCAR to boost cooperation

Baku, September 23 (AZERTAC). President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met with the Bulgarian delegation led by the Minister of the economy, energy and tourism Traycho Traykov.

Speaking in the meeting, the Bulgarian Minister expressed his consent on organization of Bulgaria-Azerbaijan Business Forum. He noted that Bulgaria “is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in energy sector”.

SOCAR president spoke of achievements gained in oil and gas industry in Azerbaijan. He added that Azerbaijan pays great attention to diversification of export routes and projects related to the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe.

Traykov, in turn, said that Bulgarian companies “are ready to cooperate with SOCAR”. He also stressed the Bulgarian side wants to buy gas from Azerbaijan and “is interested in joint establishment of gas distribution network”.

Abdullayev expressed his confidence on further development of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.
