General elections will be held in Sweden on September 13, when citizens will elect 349 members of the Riksdag. At the same time, voters will determine the composition of 21 regional councils and 290 municipal councils.
Candidates of Azerbaijani origin, nominated by various Swedish political parties, will also participate in the upcoming elections.
One of the most well-known figures is Member of the Riksdag Aylin Nuri, representing the Swedish Social Democratic Workers’ Party (Socialdemokraterna). Another representative of the Centre Party is Turan Aliyev, who is serving his second consecutive term as a member of the Partille Municipal Council. He currently also serves on the Committee on Construction and the Environment, the Committee on Culture and Leisure, and the Election Committee. In the upcoming elections, he has once again been nominated as a candidate for the Riksdag, the Västra Götaland Regional Council, and the Partille Municipal Council.
From the Green Party (Miljöpartiet), Aytaj Guliyeva, Vusal Guliyev, and Esmira Kazimova are running for the Haninge Municipal Council. Aytaj Guliyeva is currently chair of the Green Party’s local branch in Haninge Municipality.
