CD with a capacity of one million gigabytes is invented
Baku, March 9 (AZERTAC). CDs or their counterparts DVDs, as well memory sticks of all kinds can be hardly compared with the development of Romanian scientist Eugen Pavel. The thing is that the compacts worked out by a citizen of Romania may contain information for one million gigabytes (1 petabyte).
In addition, information can be stored on disk for about 5000 years. In fact, this is the all-time CD, dreamed by many people. Externally, the CD does not differ from the usual - 120 mm in diameter and 1.2 thick.
The capacity of a new CD became possible due to the new technology, which is the application of layers of information on each other and filling the lanes with special fluorescent material.
At this stage, Eugen Pavel, he is also the owner of Storex Technologies - the owner of the invention, is planning to establish a full-scale production of such discs. It`s all over bar the shouting - to look for investors that can invest in the project a considerable amount.
However, as a scientist promises, the project will be profitable. Hopefully, the invention does not suffer the same fate of others, the same “eternal” products, the patent for which is usualy safely purchased by powerful people of the world, and then the projects are buried. After all, if there is something eternal, someone will automatically lose his / her profit.
