CEC CHAIRMAN MEETS WITH HEAD OF ODIHR MISSION
Head of the observation mission G. Ahrens said in contrast to the 6 November 2005 elections the long-term mission led by him will be working for a shorter period of time. Short-term observers as well as those from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will arrive in Azerbaijan in advance of the voting. According to the ambassador, the ODIHR team will be working in touch with this mission. The mission will primarily observe the constituencies in Baku and Ganja. G. Ahrens hoped for a better conduct of elections.
CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov said OSCE mission’s monitoring of the re-elections is of great import. Chairman stated he is glad to see ambassador Geert Ahrens once again in Azerbaijan, expressing his gratitude for their activity in the previous elections.
