Central Election Commission elects its chairman, deputy chairman and secretaries
Baku, February 24 (AZERTAC). The new composition of the Central Election Commission convened the first meeting on Thursday to discuss organizational issues and elect the organization`s chairman, deputies chairman and two secretaries.
Mazahir Panahov was re-elected as chairman of the CEC while Natig Mammadov as CEC Deputy Chairman, Arifa Mukhtarova as secretary representing independent MPs and Mikail Rahimov as secretary representing minor political parties.
Speaking to the meeting, Head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev said CEC had worked “fruitfully in line with legislation”. He expressed hope the CEC would use its past experience to achieve better results.
Mehdiyev touched on President Ilham Aliyev`s care for the central and lower-level election commissions. He wished members of the commission every success in their future activity.
