China has 450 million internet users

Baku, December 30 (AZERTAC). More than a third of the Chinese population is connected to the Internet. The world`s most populous country also hosts the largest Internet user base.

According to estimations made by the International Telecommunications Union, the global internet community continues to grow with close to two billion people now being connected. It`s in China that we find the largest user community.

The Chinese Internet Network Information Centre (CNNIC) has released some statistics about their users. At the end of November 2010, the country had 450 million internet users; with this representing 33% of the population (the county has a population of more than 1.3 billion people). Compared to the same period the year before, the number of internet users has increased 20.3%. At the end of June 2010, China had 420 million Internet users.

The vast majority of Chinese users connect to the Internet via mobile telephones. In June last year, the CNNIC estimated that there were 277 million mobile internet users in China.
