Chinese CCTV channel airs Azerbaijani Ambassador’s interview

The China Central Television (CCTV) channel has aired an interview with Azerbaijani Ambassador Akram Zeynalli.
The ambassador was a guest of a program dedicated to the summit of the heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, which is scheduled for June 9 to 10 in Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong Province. Ambassador Zeynalli expressed Azerbaijan`s intention to expand its relations and cooperation with SCO and bring it to a qualitatively new level.
“Azerbaijan is keen on cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as the mutual respect and trust lie at the very core of the activity of this Organization. From this point of view, SCO's activity differs from other organizations for its spirit of cooperation,” the Ambassador said.
Zeynalli expressed his confidence that the upcoming SCO summit, which will be chaired by Chinese President Xi Jinping, would be excellently organized.
According to him, decisions to be made during the summit would create new opportunities for expanding cooperation between the SCO member states and observer states and contribute to the strengthening of peace and prosperity in the world.
The Ambassador also hailed the “One Belt, One Road” initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to support the project which will bring nations closer to each other and lift regional cooperation not only in economic and political spheres, but also in humanitarian, cultural, educational and other ones.
Ambassador Zeynalli also praised relations between Azerbaijan and China, pointing to the great potential for enhancement of economic and trade cooperation.
