Chinese FM holds phone talks with Rubio on high-level interactions
Baku, September 17, AZERTAC
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke by phone on Thursday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on high-level interactions between the two countries, Xinhua reported.
During the talks, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China-U.S. relations have for some time generally moved forward along the track of constructive strategic stability charted by the two heads of state, which helps meet the expectations of the international community.
Noting that head-of-state diplomacy is the anchor of China-U.S. relations, Wang said the two sides should prepare for the next stage of high-level exchanges in a spirit of equality, respect and mutual benefit, strengthen communication, advance cooperation, manage differences, respect each other's core interests, and send a positive message that the two countries are committed to advancing a constructive bilateral relationship of strategic stability and jointly promoting world peace and development.
Wang also exchanged views with Rubio on the Middle East situation and other issues.
