CNN World View broadcasts report about Azerbaijan`s first lady
Baku. May 8 (AZERTAC). CNN World View program has aired a video report about the Azerbaijani first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva.
The report was made by Sevinj Osmanghizi, a correspondent of ANS TV.
“Girls want to look like her, they copy her hear, style and manners. A qualified doctor, mother of three and grandmother of two, she seems to have it all,” says the report.
“Being first is always different, even when you are a first lady. Mehriban Aliyeva broke with tradition and campaigned with her husband during the presidential elections of 2003. For a country that has not seen presidential wives in public before, this was a signal of changing values.”
The report also praises the firts lady`s efforts to solve women`s problems in Azerbaijan and promote the country worldwide.
“She leads a campaign against domestic violence, raises funds for hospitals, publicizes sports and healthy lifestyle. UNESCO`s goodwill ambassador, she promotes music and cultural traditions. “
