Committee of Regions of European Union issues statement on Azerbaijan’s constitutional referendum

An observation group of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union has made a statement as Azerbaijan held a referendum on amendments to the Constitution.
Head of the group, Finland`s Paulina Haijanen said they monitored the referendum at 10 polling stations, adding that voter turnout was quite high. She added that the voting was transparent, and that they registered no violations during the referendum. Haijanen also said they studied the amendments to the Constitution ahead of the visit to the country.
