Cooperation between Azerbaijani, Iraqi NGOs discussed
Baku, February 14 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Azerbaijan President, Azay Guliyev has met today Iraqi ambassador Heydar Shiya Gubeysi al-Barrak.
The discussions focused on prospects for cooperation between NGOs of the two countries.
The ambassador said Iraqi government`s relevant structures were interested in studying Azerbaijan`s experience in activity of NGOs sector, NGOs legislation, NGOs-government relationship.
The diplomat underlined the necessity of establishment of cooperation between the two countries` NGOs.
Guliyev, in turn, briefed the ambassador on what had been done in his country to develop the NGOs sector and strengthen civil society.
He also spoke of the structure and activity of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations.
