COP29 President visits Azerbaijan's NGO pavilion

Mukhtar Babayev, COP29 President, visited the pavilion of the Azerbaijan National Forum of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in the Green Zone.
Parvana Valiyeva, member of the COP29 Organizing Committee, and member of the board of the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum, provided details on the conditions created in the pavilion.
Parvana Valiyeva said that NGOs are demonstrating strong engagement at COP29, delivering important presentations and organizing international events in collaboration with foreign partners.
She said that an international conference focusing on the ecology of the Caspian Sea, involving NGOs from the Caspian littoral states, will be held in the coming days. Moreover, as part of COP29, NGOs from Turkic states are in the process of organizing, with a joint event planned.
Mukhtar Babayev was informed that more than 410 NGOs from almost 100 countries have already joined the COP29 NGO Coalition, established on the initiative of the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum.
Elnur Baghirli, head of the department of the Agency of State Support to NGOs, spoke of the grant contest "COP29: International Initiatives," announced by the agency together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The COP29 President wished the Azerbaijani NGOs success in their activities.
