CUSTOMS OFFICERS HAVE SUMMED UP YEAR
Bright memory of the national leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the independent state was revered with a moment of silence.
Chairman of the Committee, colonel-general of customs service Kamaladdin Heydarov, making report “ On conclusions of 2003 and forthcoming tasks”, spoke of the results of activity of the State Customs Committee of the Azerbaijan Republic, stressing that during the accounting period significant work has been done in the field of improvement of the customs control and the financial-tax mechanism, strengthening of normative-legal base of the customs tax laws, discussions with the international financial organizations, employees of customs house have passed practice at the seminars organized by the World Customs Organization on a various theme.
Chairman of the Committee informed that instead of the budgetary forecasts established on 2003 at the rate of 1 trillion 20 billion manat has been collected and listed in the state budget of customs taxes and duties for the sum 1 trillion 61 billion manat that exceeds by 139 billion manat, or 15 percents the same period of previous year.
Having stopped on forthcoming tasks, Mr. Heydarov has emphasized the importance of maintenance of transparency in the organization of customs affair, increase of culture of service and further simplification of customs procedures, has noted as the primary goals the further strengthening of combat against smuggling, resolute suppression of the facts of evasion from taxes, effective utilization of existing reserve sources for increase in customs taxes and the duties paid in the budget on export-import transactions.
Then, 5 distinctive employees were presented Diploma of the World Customs Organization, and a group of the service employees – received certificates of honor of the Committee, and gifts.
The session confirmed plan of activity of the Committee for 2004.
