Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Chamber of Accounts attends 21st UN/INTOSAI Symposium
Baku, July 20 (AZERTAC). Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Chamber of Accounts Adil Maharramov attended 21st joint Symposium of the United Nations and International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
The Symposium titled “Effective practices of cooperation between SAIs and citizens to enhance public accountability” has brought together representatives from 70 countries and international organizations.
The meeting saw presentations on “Communication between SAIs and citizens to improve public accountability”, “Raising citizens’ awareness for the work of SAIs”, “Communication of audit-specific information to citizens”, “Communication related to audits that citizens channel to the SAIs”, “Values, benefits and challenges of cooperation of SAIs with parliaments: Views from parliaments”, “Innovative ways of cooperation between SAIs and citizens in the context of the MDGs” and others.
INTOSAI is a worldwide affiliation of governmental entities. It was founded in 1953. 34 audit organizations formed the group originally and as of 2010 the current membership includes 193 institutions.
