East Timorese representative: Azerbaijan contributes to the development of global cooperation

"The World Urban Forum is of paramount importance in terms of shaping the future of sustainable cities," Emiliana Soares, Technical Advisor to the Secretariat of State for State Administration and Urbanism of East Timor who is participating in the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
She noted that for East Timor, which gained independence in 2002, participating in such prestigious forums carries immense significance. According to her, the event is highly beneficial for exchanging experience and information with representatives from diverse countries.
Emiliana Soares emphasized that Azerbaijan's hosting of this major international event is a clear testament to the country's contribution to the development of global cooperation. She stated that the forum creates broad opportunities for establishing new partnerships and enabling nations to learn from one another.
She also underscored that green energy plays a vital role in the development of modern cities. In her view, the widespread utilization of green energy sources contributes significantly to reducing oil dependency and protecting the environment.
