Ethiopian President: We attach special importance to developing relations with Azerbaijan

President of Ethiopia Mulatu Teshome has expressed his country`s interest in developing relations with Azerbaijan as he received Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
President Mulatu Teshome noted that his country attaches special importance to the development of relations between the two countries. He underlined the significance of increasing efforts to bring the bilateral cooperation to a higher level, noting the role of high-level reciprocal visits.
President Mulatu Teshome mentioned that a number of Ethiopian students studied in Azerbaijan, adding that they could play the role of a bridge between the two countries.
FM Elmar Mammadyarov said thousands of African students studied in higher education institutions of Azerbaijan. Expressing readiness of Azerbaijan to continue cooperation with Ethiopia in this field, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov highlighted opportunities provided by Azerbaijani higher education institutions for foreign students.
Hailing Ethiopia`s significant position in African continent and African Union, FM Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan remains interested in developing bilateral relations with Ethiopia.
He also spoke of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and reaffirmed official Baku`s position on the settlement of the dispute.
They discussed the ways of strengthening economic relations, increasing trade as well as prospects for bilateral cooperation in the fields of communication and logistics.
