EU publishes annual progress report on Azerbaijan
Baku, May 27 (AZERTAC). Head of the EU delegation in Azerbaijan, ambassador Roland Kobia has given a press conference dedicated to the presentation of the European Commission`s annual progress report on Azerbaijan as part of the European Neighborhood Policy.
The report reflects vital successes of Azerbaijan in various fields, in particular, in realization of the European Neighborhood Policy Action Plan, securing macroeconomic stability, implementation of poverty reduction programs, according to Kobia.
The diplomat underlined that Azerbaijan and the European Union successfully cooperate in the field of energy. The Commission highly valued progress achieved by Azerbaijan in fight against organized crime, terrorism, human trafficking and protection of gender equality.
The fight against corruption in Azerbaijan and EU-Azerbaijan talks on Associative Agreement also were mentioned in the repot as positive steps.
The report also says that the European Union supports continuation of talks on the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno Karabakh.
