European Canoe Association opens its first office in Azerbaijan
Baku, March 13, AZERTAC
The Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation has established a multi-faceted partnership with Paddle Europe (PEU).
Azerbaijan’s strategic geographical position, the country’s potential for hosting development-oriented events, and the existing wide-ranging opportunities for cooperation between Paddle Europe (PEU) and the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation allowed signing of a document on mutual cooperation between the parties.
According to the document, the parties will cooperate in providing support to organizations in Eastern Europe and developing countries, developing canoeing, hosting international competitions, and organizing training camps at the Sarsang reservoir.
In the future, infrastructure projects aimed at expanding training opportunities in the region may also be considered. Taking into account Azerbaijan’s geographical location, the parties will explore opportunities to strengthen ties between the canoeing communities of Europe and Asia. This cooperation will include joint training, the development of coaches and leaders, participation in events, and the development of mutually beneficial areas of collaboration.
To ensure effective coordination of cooperation and transparency in decision-making processes, the parties will establish a joint steering body. To this end, it is proposed to set up a Joint Steering Group comprising an equal number of representatives from both sides.
