EUROPEAN UNION ATTACHES GREAT SIGNIFICANCE TO DEVELOPMENT OF COOPERATION WITH AZERBAIJAN
Minister Vilayat Guliyev, noting that Azerbaijan attaches special significance to relations with European Union, highly appreciated the course of realization of a number of joint projects and stressed the necessity for a bilateral dialogue with the European Union on political and security issues. The Minister expressed hope for further deepening of the EU’s relation with Azerbaijan.
Afterwards, Vilayat Guliyev updated the guest on the current situation around the Armenia- Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Garabakh, hard living conditions of refugees, and the damage this conflict had caused to reestablishment of security in the region, and economic development of our Republic.
Mr. Per Gharton pointed out importance the European Union attaches to its relations with Azerbaijan, and stressed his adherence to taking joining efforts for expanding these relations. Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Garabakh, he expressed hope for its peaceful and speedy resolution.
The parties discussed other issues of mutual interest, as well.
