Event to mark ICT workers` professional holiday held in Baku
Baku, December 6 (AZERTAC). An event dedicated to December 6- professional holiday of communications and information technologies took place Monday in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan.
The ceremony was attended by officials from the ministry, representatives of government and media.
Speakers in the event highlighted the history of the telecommunications sector in Azerbaijan.
In addition, as part of the ceremony, awarding honorary degrees to employees of communications and information technologies and awarding the winners of the contest “Role of media in ICT” announced by the Ministry with the State Support to the Media under Azerbaijan`s President were held. Journalists ranked in the categories of the contest prizes, received honorary diplomas and valuable gifts.
The Executive Director of the Foundation Vugar Safarli on his own behalf and on behalf of the media congratulated the staff of the Ministry, on their professional holiday and wished them success in their future activities. Moreover, MCIT officials, newly admitted into the New Azerbaijan Party, were presented certificates of the party.
In conclusion, the event was addressed by the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov.
“Today is a holiday for all people associated with the sphere of communications and information technologies in Azerbaijan. On this significant day, I would like to emphasize the care and attention of President Ilham Aliyev to this sphere. The order signed in 2006 to celebrate in the country December 6 as a professional holiday of workers of communications and information technologies is a graphic example of the said care and attention,” the minister said.
Congratulating all the workers of the sphere on the occasion of the holiday and wishing them success, Ali Abbasov underlined the need to demonstrate excellent results in future and work for the development of Azerbaijan.
