A meeting entitled “Heydar Aliyev’s role in strengthening of our independence” was conducted in the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.

The University pro-rector Tofig Gasimov recounted of the services of the genius personality, outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev in winning of independence by Azerbaijan.

He said that following the gaining of independence Azerbaijan once again faced the threat of breakdown and if Heydar Aliyev did not return to power Azerbaijani people could face tragedies. Today, we proudly can speak about the accomplishments of Azerbaijan in social, economic, and political spheres. These are fruits of Heydar Aliyev’s labor.

Pro-rector for foreign ties, professor Gahraman Binnatli dwelt upon invaluable services of Heydar Aliyev in developing economy, culture of Azerbaijan. He said that this genius personality had devoted all his life to prosperity of modern Azerbaijan. President Heydar Aliyev who came to power for the second time at people’s request saved the country from civil confrontation.

Chairman of Student Organization of Trade Unions Israfil Mammadov and others suggested a perpetuation of Heydar Aliyev’s name.
