About 200 wrestlers from 42 countries come together today at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex in Baku to compete in the final round of the international Golden Grand Prix tournament.

A thirty-man team of referees, including Azerbaijani referees of international classification Khanmirza Malikaliyev, Hijran Sharifov and Garib Aliyev, will take charge of bouts in the competition.

The tournament will be held in three styles (men’s freestyle and Greco-Roman, and women’s freestyle).

The Azerbaijani team’s squad is comprised of eleven wrestlers.

The opening ceremony of the final round of the Golden Grand Prix tournament will be attended by Rafael Martinetti, President of the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles, and presidents of the competing countries’ national wrestling federations.

The winners will be awarded $5,000, while the second and third (two wrestlers) finishers receive $3,000 and $1,500 respectively.
