FINANCE MINISTERS OF ECO COUNTRIES ASSEMBLE IN ISLAMABAD

First sitting of the finance ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization’s member-countries was held in Islamabad, on 29-30 January, press service of the Azerbaijan Embassy in Pakistan reported.

Delegation of Azerbaijan was led by ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Eynulla Madatli, comprised heads of departments of the ministries of finance, tax and National Bank of Azerbaijan.

The sitting was presided by the Pakistani minister of finance and economic issues Shevket Aziz. The newly elected ECO Secretary General made a report.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan spoke of the conducted reforms in the field finance, tax and banking system in the last ten years and successes reached in these spheres.

The participants of the sitting adopted a Final Declaration. Next sitting of the Ministers was decided to hold 2 years later. The ECO secretariat will define the place and time of the sitting.

President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf received the participants of gathering.
