First part of SOCAR-built gas pipeline in Poti opened
Baku, January 25 (AZERTAC). An opening ceremony of the first part of gas pipeline built by SOCAR Georgia Gas Ltd. Company in Poti city was held on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri, Mayor of Poti Vakhtang Lemonjava, governor of Samegrelo region Zaza Gorozia, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and other officials of the company.
The pipeline covers 9 residential corpuses and private sector objects. 707 potential subscribers will be supplied with gas via this pipeline.
SOCAR used polyethylene pipes during the construction of pipeline and this prolongs the exploitation term of the pipeline.
In general, 150 km gas pipeline is designed to be constructed in Poti city. 17 000 subscribers will be supplied with gas as a result of this project. According to SOCAR`s 3-year investment program, more than 500 km pipeline in Samergelo region, 1500 km pipeline in Georgia are planned to be constructed.
SOCAR Georgia Gas Company has launched 880 km gas line and 86 subscribers have been supplied with gas.
