FOREIGN MINISTER OF TURKEY ARRIVED IN BAKU
At Bina airport, head of the foreign policy department of Turkey was welcomed by deputy foreign minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov, ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Ahmed Unal Chevigoz and other officials.
Responding the questions of media representatives on the goal of his visit, Mr. A. Gul noted that he would have meetings with the leadership of Azerbaijan, discuss a range of issues of mutual interest.
Together with the people of Azerbaijan, I grieve on the demise of the great statesman of Azerbaijan and whole Turkic world, esteemed President Heydar Aliyev and express my condolence to all the people of Azerbaijan, said head of MFA of Turkey, underlining that first he would visit the grave of the eminent leader at the Alley of Honors.
At the words of Mr. Gul, Azerbaijan entered a new phase of development and the relations between the two fraternal countries should enhance in increasing line. “All our efforts should follow the goal of all-faceted development of bilateral relations. Azerbaijan and Turkey have right to be among the most developed state of world”, head of Turkish MFA said.
Abdullah Gul also underlined that the political course of leadership of Turkey related to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh problem remains unchanged. “The mentioned question is important both for Azerbaijan and Turkey. The problem of occupied territories is common for all of us, and we shall do all possible to resolve it. The Caucasus should become the center of peace, stability and development”, concluded foreign minister of Turkey.
Then, head of the MFA of Turkey made notes in the Memory Book, whereby it is said: “To the bottom of my heart I share the grief of Azerbaijani people on passing of the great statesman of the whole Turkic world, President Heydar Aliyev. I share sorrow of the loss and mourn together with the people of Azerbaijan.
