French embassy in Azerbaijan celebrates Bastille Day
Baku, July 15 AZERTAC. The French embassy to Azerbaijan organized an official reception to mark the Bastille Day on Friday.
Opening the event, Ambassador Gabriel Keller spoke of the history of the France’s national day.
The diplomat said reciprocal visits and high-level meetings contribute to boosting relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Gabriel Keller praised the relationship between Azerbaijan and France. He expressed hope that bilateral political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between France and Azerbaijan would continue to develop.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev conveyed greetings of President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of this significant holiday, his wishes for peace and prosperity to the French people. He highlighted deeply-rooted historical ties between Azerbaijan and France.
Stressing President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to development of Azerbaijani-French relations, Garayev also noted the special role of the first lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP deputy Mehriban Aliyeva in strengthening bilateral relations.
Ambassadors of foreign countries in Azerbaijan, MPs, and public representatives were present at the event.
