French president to visit Turkey
Baku, February 25 (AZERTAC). French President Nicolas Sarkozy will pay a working visit to Turkey on Friday, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Thursday.
The statement said that Sarkozy`s visit is expected to provide a basis for further developing the relations between Turkey and France, which, as two NATO Allies and G-20 members, share the same basic values and ideals and have converging approaches on international and regional issues of common concern.
Within the framework of the French G-20 Presidency, G-20 issues will be covered comprehensively during the discussions as well as bilateral relations between Turkey and France, important developments within the EU, Turkey`s EU accession process, Cyprus question and in light of recent developments current regional and international issues will be taken up, according to the statement.
During the course of the visit, Sarkozy will meet with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
