The 15 Presidential elections in Azerbaijan were in the focus of the French press as well. “Figaro”, “Mond”, “Liberasion” and other influential newspapers attached large attention to the articles of their special correspondents, sent to Baku in connection with the presidential elections.

It is stated that the program of Ilham Aliyev is actual in comparison with other candidates, and that Washington looks forwarding candidacy of Ilham Aliyev meeting the Constitution of Azerbaijan Republic.

Special correspondents of the newspapers “Figaro” and “Monde” write that the youth supports Ilham Aliyev and that “the opposition is not able to defend and preserve stability in the country”.

Dealing with the course of the election process, the French press underlines that the elections in Azerbaijan were transparent and democratic, calling attempts of the Musavat Party to cause chaos and arbitrariness in the country.

Both correspondents, having visited the voting stations, note that current elections are more progressive and democratic comparing with the previous ones because the elections passed in the atmosphere of particular activeness of population.
