GEORGIA ON THE EVE OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
Several days before the forthcoming 4 January extra presidential elections in Georgia, chairman of the Central Election Commission Zurab Jiaberashvili stated that the elections would be considered valid in case of definition of the number of electors passed preliminary registration on the format 50+1.
As was informed, the winner will be the candidate garnering 50+1 percent of votes of the electors. If none of the candidates will reach such indication, then, by-elections will be held. Total number of the electors will be determined in according with the preliminary registration (the figure is 1.700,324 except Ajaria Autonomous Republic). It has to be reminded that the number of electros in Georgia exceeds a little three millions.
This number will be added by the electors who will appeal to the election commissions on the day of elections, CEC chairman underlined.
