GERMANY KEEN IN DEVELOPMENT OF RELATIONS WITH AZERBAIJAN
Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament spoke of history of the friendly relations between two countries, emphasizing the role of the heads of state in development of these relations. ‘We appraise support of the German parliamentarians in the questions of Azerbaijan’s membership in the Council of Europe, as well as objective position of Germanys in the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict’, Mr. Asadov stressed. ‘We hope this position will not change and further’, the Speaker OF Azernaijan Parliament said.
The Ambassador congratulated Ogtay Asadov on election as Chairman of the country’s Parliament. He said Germany highly estimates the role of Azerbaijan in region and is keen in development of links in versatile fields. Germany is to chair at the European Union in the first half next year and Azerbaijan can hope for support of Germany.
Then, discussed were the prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, as well as European Union, the country’s integration to Euro-Atlantic structures, expansion of German-Azeri inter-parliamentarian links and other questions.
