Heavy rains and winds damaged the City of Buenos Aires
Baku, July 27 (AZERTAC). The storm with strong gusts and hail that hit the city of Buenos Aires and Greater Buenos Aires caused serious material damage.
In the City of Buenos Aires, the neighborhoods of Flores, Floresta and Parque Chacabuco were the hardest hit. There collapsed the shed of a station in Flores on two parked cars.
A child was seriously injured in Floresta by a falling tree.
At the height of Flores, a container fell from a highway truck.
In Parque Chacabuco, a gate fell on four people.
Moreover, in different parts of the city posters were blasting and trees fell down.
Diego Santilli, Minister of Public Space of Buenos Aires, spoke to M24Digital and said that “the areas most affected were those in Flores and Parque Chacabuco”.
And that “the storm was so violent, so strong that it left many problems. The strong wind threw many trees, but the city held out well”.
Daniel Russo, director of City Civil Defense announced that “at least 17 people, including four children, were injured as a result of the storm”.
In the city of La Plata, the driver of a vehicle died when he strucked by a tree limb on the body.
In Lomas de Zamora, a person died as a result of a falling wall of the cemetery.
The exhibition Technopolis closed today because they have to repair the damage that occurred in some of the facilities.
