Baku, June 1 (AZERTAC). On the occasion of the International Children`s Day, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and UNICEF launches a campaign "There is no limit to opportunities", aimed at eliminating discrimination towards the handicapped children.

The campaign, which is to be carried out over the next six months through the special events, social reels on television, announcements, will support social integration of handicapped children. The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has been ratified by the Azerbaijani government in 2009.

About 56,000 handicapped children have been registered in Azerbaijan. Only 6,000 of them get education at special schools and 11,000 at home. The goal of the campaign is to change attitudes towards the handicapped children by parents, teachers, and health workers. An international conference on handicapped children is expected to hold in Baku in September.
