On behalf of ConocoPhillips, I express to You and the Government of Azerbaijan our deep gratitude for the support in construction of the new highly advanced semi-submersible drilling rig.
Construction of this rig is an important event in development of the energy sector of the Republic of Azerbaijan and may occupy significant place in its future economic progress.
The construction of the rig became possible due to the joint efforts of the government of Azerbaijan, international and local companies.
The favorable milieu created under your leadership for development of business in Azerbaijan allowed to attract numerous international companies to development of the energy sector that became an additional support for impetuous development of the republic’s economy.
Together with foreign specialists, Azerbaijani specialists were also taking direct part in the construction of the rig to be operated by them in the future.
We expect with a great optimism that the new rig will successfully overcome all difficulties of the drilling works at great depths, and play an important role in exploitation of the prospective structures ‘Zafar’ and ‘Mashal’.
