‘Implementation of WhiteCity project begins in Azerbaijan’
Baku, March 11 (AZERTAC). “Implementation of a new big WhiteCity project has started. The project is symbolical because a new development project has been proposed in the area formerly called “blackcity”. Realization of the WhiteCity project will occupy its place in a map of world cities as a manifestation of a new development strategy of Baku, our country,” President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting on socio-economic development of Baku and its settlements
According to the President, the WhiteCity will be the development project matching a ‘small town’.
“It means a new environmentally-friendly construction project will be realized inside Baku in the environmentally unfit, oil-polluted lands. Residential, office buildings, trade centers, parks, new boulevard with an access to the sea will be built there,” he said
The President noted while the project would be partially financed by the government major funding will come from the private sector.
The Head of State underlined Azerbaijan had taken ‘necessary’ measures to develop private sector and safeguard foreign investments.
