IN HONOR OF NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF JAPAN
State anthems of Azerbaijan and Japan were performed.
Speaking at the ceremony, ambassador of Japan Mr. Toshiyuki Fujivara noted that the 2003 would be remembered as a landmark event both in the field of Azerbaijani-Japanese relations and in the political history of Azerbaijan. He once again congratulated Ilham Aliyev with his election as President of Azerbaijan and wished him success in the cause of building a strong Azerbaijani state. The Ambassador expressed confidence that the bilateral relations in the oil and other fields of the two countries would also develop under the leadership of the new President of Azerbaijan.
First Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Parliament Arif Rahimzadeh conveyed greetings of president Ilham Aliyev on the national holiday of Japan, wished the people of Japan peace and tranquility. He stressed a hope in further development of the relations between Azerbaijan and Japan, including expansion of mutually beneficial economic operation.
At the ceremony, were participating representatives of Azerbaijan Government, MPs, head of the diplomatic missions for countries in Baku, public representatives.
