Injuries show no mercy... Carlos Alcaraz will miss the Davis Cup

On his social media page X, 22-year-old Spanish tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz—currently the world No. 1—announced he will not be able to represent Spain in the upcoming Davis Cup due to a leg injury, according to DailySports.
Alcaraz revealed that he suffered swelling in his right hamstring following a grueling match against Jannik Sinner, a contest that ended in defeat for the Spaniard. Medical staff strongly advised Alcaraz to begin treatment immediately, which also includes a mandatory break from intense physical activity for a period of time.
“I'm really sorry to announce that I won't be able to play for Spain in the Davis Cup in Bologna... I have swelling in the hamstring of my right leg, and the doctors have recommended I don't compete. I have always said that playing for Spain is the greatest honor, and I was really looking forward to helping the team fight for the Cup. I’m going home with a heavy heart...” Alcaraz wrote.
The Spanish squad will face the Czech Republic this Thursday in the Davis Cup quarterfinals.
