IRELAND TO CHAIR EUROPEAN UNION
Since 1 January, Ireland has become chair of the European Union for 6 months. To this end, in the Dublin Palace, where will be conducted major political meetings and summits, was held a ceremony of hoisting of the flag of European Union.
Prime Minister of Ireland Berty Achern noted that the most important in 2004 event would be admission to the EU membership of ten new countries. Chairmanship by this country at EU will end 17-18 June in Brussels at the Summit of this Organization.
