Israel’s Bar-Ilan University delegation visits Baku State University

A delegation from Israel’s Bar-Ilan University (BIU) led by Vice President Zeev Zalevsky visited the Baku State University (BSU).
During the meeting, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev noted that Israeli higher education institutions hold a special place in the university’s international cooperation. He said that BSU is successfully implementing a dual-degree programme with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the Plant Biotechnology specialization at the master’s level, as well as a dual-degree programme with the Holon Institute of Technology in Computer Science at the bachelor’s level.
Elchin Babayev also highlighted the potential for establishing cooperation platforms with Bar-Ilan University in such areas as computer science, high technologies, nanophysics, biomedicine, and other fields.
Zeev Zalevsky provided an overview of the BIU, noting that it offers highly funded PhD programmes and flexible research opportunities through international partnerships in fields including materials science, chip technologies, machine learning, as well as the social sciences and humanities. He reaffirmed the university’s interest in cooperation with BSU.
The meeting also focused on academic and scientific cooperation between the two universities, particularly joint projects for PhD students.
