ITALY KEEN IN AZERBAIJAN
Focused was the issue of widening and strengthening of bilateral relations between the two counties, MFA press service reported.
Noting that Italy is keen on Azerbaijan, Mr. Giovanni Kessler stressed the necessity of exchange of information on the culture, economy, and history of the Country, as well as on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict, of conducting bilateral scientific conferences, seminars, days of culture.
Minister Vilayat Guliyev appreciated the relations between Italy and Azerbaijan, saying that the bilateral relations should be deepened in numerous fields. On this purpose, the embassy of Azerbaijan would be opened in Italy shortly, the Minister added.
Head of the Azerbaijan foreign policy department updated the guest on the situation in the region. Touching upon the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Mr. Guliyev gave comprehensive information on the reasons and sequences of the conflict, as a result of which over one million of Azerbaijanis became refuges and IDPs.
The parties had exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
