Kuwait`s independence turns 50
Baku, February 25 (AZERTAC). Embassy of Kuwait to Azerbaijan gave an official reception on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Kuwait`s independence.
Ambassador Hassan Yusuf al-Zavavi updated the participants on achievements Kuwait has gained over the past 50 years. He said relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait were rapidly developing. Mr. Zavavi underlined numerous bilateral agreements have been signed between the two countries due to the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Kuwait in 2009.
Azerbaijan`s Education Minister Misir Mardanov on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Kuwaiti nation and wished them peace and prosperity. He said close ties were established between the two countries` parliaments and governments. Minister said the friendly country supports Azerbaijan`s stand in the international organizations.
The event brought together MPs, officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations.
