Liverpool beat Benfica 3-1 in a UEFA Champions League quarterfinals first leg match Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency.
Ibrahima Konate drew first blood for Liverpool in the 17th minute at the Estadio da Luz.
Senegalese star Sadio Mane made it 2-0 for the Reds in the 34th minute, and the first half ended 2-0.
Darwin Nunez gave Benfica a lifeline in the 47th minute, but Luis Diaz made it 3-1 for the English team in the 87th minute and sealed the deal.
Liverpool will host Benfica at Anfield on April 14 in the second leg of the quarterfinals.
