As Lyudmila Shvetsova, the first assistant to Mayor of Moscow and co-chairman of the Intergovernmental commission on cooperation between the Government of Moscow and Government of Azerbaijan, told the correspondent of AzerTAj in Moscow, there are established between Azerbaijan and Russia warm and friendly interstate relations which have great history and deep roots. Now, we in Russia with impatience wait for the first official visit of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev to Moscow. By L. Shvetsova’s words, Ilham Aliyev’s visit is even more to strengthen good-neighborhood, friendship between Azerbaijan and Russia, constructed on very powerful and strong base, which during many years was pawned by President Heydar Aliyev. As she said, the national leader of Azerbaijan, wise politician and great statesman Heydar Aliyev has managed to keep all that has been achieved by our peoples in XX century, and to find new, modern approaches in the policy, economy, public life, the approaches directed on preservation of historical traditions and providing friendship of our peoples.
“I want to express my satisfaction and that Ilham Aliyev after election on the post of the head of the state one of the first visits makes as the President of Azerbaijan in the Russian capital. We well know him and as the head of a big and friendly state, and as a "Muscovite". We remember and we know that he studied in the Moscow State University, then had postgraduate study, and taught at the same University. And now he comes to the city where he studied, lived and worked, where has received worthy and wide education ”, L. Shvetsova told.
Lyudmila Shvetsova has expressed also hope that official visit of the head of the Azerbaijan state would be very useful and important for all of us from the point of view of development at all levels of cooperation between our states.
